Another Halloween is on its way in, and last year, celebrities made sure to celebrate with private parties and, of course, crazy costumes. We saw Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, and their kids decked out family-style, while Scott Eastwood channeled his dad, Clint, as one of his iconic film characters. DIY queen Lauren Conrad wowed with a circus-themed look, Bette Midler brought her iconic Hocus Pocus character back to life, and British journalist Jemima Khan even brought some humor across the pond with her savage Melania Trump costume. Keep reading to see all the best looks we were treated to last year.
As massive fans of Riverdale, we’re used to seeing Lili Reinhart as the sweet and bubbly Betty Cooper, but the actress actually has a very dark side . . . well, when it comes to Halloween. If you scroll back through Lili’s Instagram, you’ll quickly see that she’s incredibly talented at creepy and special-effects makeup. From zombies to skeletons to creepy clown monsters, she brings her A game with her costumes every Halloween, and we really can’t wait to see what she does this year. If you’re in need of some last-minute inspiration for your costume, keep reading to see 25 of Lili’s creepy and creative looks over the years.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban always make us swoon with their sickeningly sweet appearances, and Wednesday night was no different. During the CMT Artists Of The Year awards in Nashville, the duo looked absolutely smitten as they walked the red carpet together. Aside from wrapping their arms around each other, they seemed to forget the cameras were there entirely as they put their heads close together and stared longingly into each others’ eyes. Of course, this isn’t the first time the two have pulled a stunt like this. Over the years, they have developed a signature couples pose: Keith whispering into Nicole’s ear. Keep reading to see more from their sweet night out.
Fans of Marvel, Netflix, vigilantes, and inky darkness suddenly illuminated by fiery explosions, rejoice! Here’s a new trailer for The Punisher, serving up two and a half minutes of Jon Bernthal punishing people for… things!
Look, I don’t pretend to understand what’s going on anymore. Bernthal’s Frank Castle did some very bad things for the military, back in the day. His family was killed. He’s out for revenge, against the shadowy people who killed his family? Which might be tied to his time in the military? Because he witnessed something?
Whatever, there’s a skull on his body armor, and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page is in it, and a character literally tells Frank, «Now the only person you’re punishing is yourself.» Which, like — MESSAGE! I’m obviously going to watch all of it, over the course of, like, two days, because it can’t be any worse than Iron Fist. And I genuinely liked Bernthal’s take on the character, even if I can’t really remember what happened in that season of Daredevil.
The series will finally hit Netflix on November 17th — which means I’ve plenty of time to figure out how to boost my TV’s brightness before then.
This past weekend, the 30th annual Americares Airlift Benefit took place at the Westchester County Airport. Americares is a “nonprofit disaster relief and global health organization” that annually assists over 90 countries and every single state in the U.S. by providing more than $ 600 million in health programs and quality medical support.
Guests in attendance included co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, Melissa Joan Hart, Tony Goldwyn, Dr. Mike Varshavski, Erica Hill, Jennifer Lahmers and Bobby Valentine. President George H.W. Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush were presented with the inaugural Bob and Leila Macauley Humanitarian Spirit Award for their remarkable bravery and devotion to philanthropy. Jonathan Bush Jr. was in attendance to accept the award on behalf of his aunt and uncle.
The Benefit provided guests and Americares staff with the opportunity to partake in their signature Airlift, which included either a thrilling send-off from the tarmac, or a climb aboard a chartered plane for a 24-hour trip to Guatemala, where visitors were able to see first-hand exactly what health programs are provided by Americares. Guatemala is an impoverished country with an incredibly limited amount of medicine. Americares supports 300 health centers throughout Guatemala, which provides the country with the essential support they desperately need.
Nothing gets you out of the Monday morning doldrums like a fresh look at one of the most anticipated films coming up in the next year. And though my eyes have been blinded recently by the technicolor insanity that is every bit of Thor: Ragnarok marketing, once I blinked a few times and let them adjust I was in for a treat this morning — thanks to the new poster and trailer for Marvel’s next superhero entry, Black Panther.
— Chadwick Boseman (@chadwickboseman) October 16, 2017
I love that the poster is building on the more creative, dynamic constructions coming out of Marvel (as seen in the marketing for GotG Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok), but with a Wakanda twist: Art Deco meets ultra-modern tech. Also, let’s be honest — with a cast that stacked with talent, you put them all together and you show them the fuck off.
But instead of sitting around staring at a poster, LET’S WATCH THIS NEW TRAILER ON A LOOP ALL DAY LONG:
That music! Those gadgets! Angela Bassett queening all over the place! We definitely get a better sense of the tone of the interactions between the characters, and a better look at all kinds of action. I don’t know about you guys, but I needed this today.
Black Panther hits theaters February 16, 2018. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars (*inhales breath*) Chadwick Boseman, Andy Serkis, Michael B. Jordan, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Sterling K. Brown, Letitia Wright, and so many more.
The following contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season seven.
Once Game of Thrones fans got over the initial shock (and delirious joy) over the revelation of Jon Snow’s true parentage, the detail-oriented among us fixated on one question: if Jon’s dad is Rhaegar Targaryen, how did he end up with dark hair? Targaryens are known for their silvery-white locks, with the recognizable trait passing down with each generation . . . but not to Jon, which allows him to fly under the radar in the North as Ned Stark’s supposed bastard.
Because the Targaryens’ blondness seems like such a quintessential part of that family line, one dedicated fan calculated the trait’s heredity to determine why exactly Jon is a brunette — and, if he is to father Daenerys’s child, whose looks their baby will inherit.
Using simplistic genetics — and assuming that the Targaryens’ silver hair is a recessive trait, hence their habit of intermarrying to «keep the bloodline pure» — Redditor CabezaJuan created a pedigree chart to visualize Jon Snow’s genetic journey to dark, brooding looks. Despite the confusing bloodlines in the GOT universe, this heredity chart makes it easy to map out Jon’s family line!
The chart also has another perk. According to other fans, it also means that any kids born of Jon and Daenerys’s relationship have split chances between dark and light hair.
So your guess is as good as ours: will Jon and Dany have blond babies or will they favor their dad’s Northern looks? That is, if the couple has kids at all; Daenerys is still convinced that she is unable to bear children thanks to a prophecy in season one, but we predict otherwise. Perhaps, like Jon, any babies will inherit their mother’s looks but their father’s solemn, noble personality. However it turns out, we’re definitely excited to see a new line between the pair on the Targaryen family tree!
Celebrities love to dress up for Halloween, and Kim Kardashian is one of the few that usually go all out! Her many, often revealing Halloween looks through the years show that she’s mastered the art of a sexy costume with outfits inspired by movies, animals, and even fictional characters. Needless to say, we can’t wait to see what she does this year.
We’ve all been there: suffering from an uncomfortable wedgie, trying to figure out the best way to pick it, when we’re asked to dance in front of a live studio audience. OK, scratch that last bit — unless, of course, you’re Blake Lively. When she stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to play «Dance Battle,» the actress gave it her all . . . especially when asked to simulate hiding an awkward underwear situation. «I’ve sort of been doing that this whole interview,» she laughed when assigned the wedgie dance, totally nailing the move and even looking semi-graceful while doing it. (Two birds with one stone, right?) Later on and wedgie-free, Blake revealed some hidden ballet talent in sky-high heels. Watch the entire dance battle above!
When Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello step out on the red carpet, you know the level of PDA is going to up by 10 notches, and their latest appearance was no exception. On Thursday, the couple celebrated Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Tie The Knot five-year-anniversary at NeueHouse Hollywood in California. This is the first time they’ve walked a red carpet together since the Oscars — Joe has been filming a movie in New York City while Sofia has been busy filming Modern Family and promoting her new underwear line, EBY — but seeing these two reunite in public makes it seem like no time has passed at all. They look just smitten as they were when they first confirmed they were dating in 2014.
